I recently worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at a local Environmental Science focused school. In this role, I focused on building students’ STEM identity, motivation, and interest. I helped curate and create culturally relevant, innovative learning experiences that focused on environmental issues such as water quality, pollution, and environmental equity. I am passionate about diversifying the STEM pipeline by enhancing underrepresented minority students’ access to high-quality, culturally relevant STEM experiences while ensuring students feel supported while pursuing degrees and careers in these fields.
